1.Introduction
ThePipeandSlotRheologySystem(PSRS)shallconsistofthefollowing
subsystems,components,andservices:

InstallationandTraininginChina
ThePipeandSlotRheologySystemisdesignedtoevaluatetheproppant
transportcapabilitiesofvariousfracturingfluids. Thisisdonebypumpingaslurry
offracgelandproppantthroughaheatedshearlooptoconditionthefluidand
simulatedownholeconditions. The slurryisthenpumpedthoughaseriesof
pipestomeasuretheshearstressexhibitedbytheslurryatdifferentshearrates.
Usingthisshearstressvs.shearratedatatherheologicalpropertiesoftheslurry
canbedetermined(n ,k ,apparentviscosity). Followingthepiperheometerthe
slurryisflowedthroughaslotrheometerwheretheproppanttransportcanbe
visualized. Bycomparingtherheologicalpropertiesof theslurrywiththeactual
proppanttransportobservedtheusercanhaveabetterunderstandingofthe
proppanttransportoffluidsonlocationwhenitisimpossibletovisualizetheactual
proppanttransport. Studiescanbeconductedtodeterminetheoptimumfluid
propertiesthatwillmaximizeproppanttransportbutminimizeformationdamage.
Inaddition,thesettlingpropertiesoftheproppantinvarioustypesoffracgelcan
alsobeinvestigated.

materials. Inaddition,muchoftheequipmentiscustommanufactured
includingpumps,valves,andfittings. Deliverytimeontheseitemswill
notbeknownuntiltimeoforderplacement. Someareexpectedtobe
sixmonthsormore. Ourdeliverytimeoffinalproductcouldbeless
dependingonavailabilityofthesematerials,butisnotguaranteed.
