ACUSOL?823RheologyModifierandStabilizerDescriptionACUSOL823isaHydrobolicallymodified,AlkaliSolubleacrylicpolymerEmulsion(HASE).ACUSOL823canbedirectlyincorporatedintoformulationswithoutnecessityforslowpreliminarypreparationofaseparatethickenersolution.ViscosityisdevelopedsimplybyadjustingthepHonthealkalinesidewithanybase.Itissuppliedasalowviscosity( 100mPa.s)emulsionandthereforeiseasytohandle.ACUSOL823isananionicassociativethickener,containinghydrophobicgroupswhicharecapableofformingintramolecularassociationsandadsorbingontothesurfaceofdispersedparticles,thusprovidingthickeningandstabilizationpowermuchgreaterthanotherunmodifiedpolymersofsimilarmolecularweight.ThickeningofACUSOL823isespeciallyeffectiveinformulationshavingahighelectrolytecontent,suchasin"liquidslurries,"inhardsurfaceabrasivecleanersandinhighlybuiltdetergents.ItalsoprovidesexcellentstabilizationandmaintainstheviscosityeveninformulationsatveryhighpH.ACUSOL823istheacrylicthickenerwhoserheologyandstabilizationefficacyareclosertothecellulosicswithouttheusualdrawbacksassociatedwiththeseproducts.
